Overview
Breathless is a haunting and uncompromising exploration of a planet that has turned against its inhabitants. In a world where air pollution has reached a lethal saturation point, the human race has been forced into a desperate, physical transformation to survive. The film follows a small group of scavengers as they navigate a landscape of smog and ruins, fighting for every lungful of a disappearing resource.
Synopsis
The sky is no longer blue; it is a thick, choking veil of amber and grey. Generations after the “Great Smog,” the humans who remain are unrecognizable—deformed by oxygen deprivation, their eyes widened and their skin tightened against the toxic atmosphere. These survivors depend on makeshift respirators and precious, vintage oxygen tanks to endure the simple act of standing outside.
When a rumor spreads of a “Clean Pocket”—a high-altitude sanctuary where the air is still pure—a band of survivors embarks on a treacherous trek across the bombed-out remains of a global capital. But as their tanks run low and the air grows thinner, they realize that the greatest threat isn’t just the pollution outside, but the lengths to which people will go to take the breath right out of someone else’s lungs.
