Critical Race Theory (CRT) is an academic and legal framework originating in the 1970s/80s that examines how systemic racism is ingrained in legal systems, policies, and societal institutions rather than just individual prejudice. It argues that racism is a social construct, not a biological one, and shapes racial inequality in housing, education, and healthcare.

Each card pairs original steampunk-styled artwork with documented legal and sociological fact: from foundational concepts like Intersectionality, Interest Convergence, and the Social Construction of Race, to institutional forces like Redlining, Disparate Impact, and Racial Capitalism, to the tools of resistance — Counterstorytelling, Critical Consciousness, and Abolition. These are the frameworks, doctrines, and legal constructs that shape who gets resources, who bears burdens, and who benefits from systems designed long before any of us arrived — named, defined, and given the weight they deserve.
This is not a political story. It is a legal and historical one.
