KNOWLEDGE / PLANT / CARNIVOROUS PLANTS
Carnivorous plants are specialized flora that thrive in nutrient-poor, acidic, and waterlogged soils by evolving to trap, digest, and absorb nutrients (specifically nitrogen and phosphorus) from insects and small invertebrates. While they perform photosynthesis, these plants use specialized leaves, such as pitfall traps, sticky flypaper, or, in the case of the Venus flytrap, snap traps, to supplement their diet.
RELIK A-Z: Feed Me! — Carnivorous Plant Series
Nature’s most ruthless hunters don’t have claws. They have traps.
The Feed Me! collection is an educational trading card series exploring the dark, fascinating world of carnivorous plants — and the humans consumed by them. Each card pairs visceral, dramatic artwork with real botanical science: how these endangered plants evolved to eat, what mechanisms they use to catch prey, and why their survival is under threat.
Cards cover the four major trap types — Snap Traps (Venus Flytrap), Pitfall Traps (Pitcher Plants), Flypaper Traps (Sundews), and Bladder Traps (Bladderworts) — alongside broader carnivorous plant biology. Stunning, dark imagery makes each card impossible to look away from.
Part of the RELIK A-Z Knowledge Card system, each card carries point values, rarity levels, and category tags connecting to the larger RELIK Plant Creature universe.
For collectors, educators, and anyone who has ever rooted for the plant.
