Slavery Cards

April 6, 2026

EMPATHY / HUMAN / SLAVERY

Female slaves survived the brutal, sexualized violence of slavery through a combination of day-to-day resistance, strengthening community bonds, nurturing family life, and exercising strategic agency. They resisted by breaking tools, feigning illness, running away, leading revolts, and using herbal remedies to manage reproductive autonomy.

RELIK A-Z: If Nat Turner Had Won — Antebellum Slavery Series

What they didn’t teach you in history class. The If Nat Turner Had Won collection is an educational trading card series documenting the brutal, intimate, and deliberately obscured realities of antebellum slavery in America — told without euphemism.

Each card pairs original period-styled artwork with documented historical fact: the Abolition Riot of 1836, Abortifacients used secretly by enslaved women, Bacon’s Rebellion, Chattel Slavery, Concubine Slaves, Fancy Girls, Mixed-Race Slaves, and the reproductive violence and resistance that defined enslaved women’s lives. These are the histories that were buried — named, defined, and given the weight they deserve.

This is not comfortable history. It is necessary history.

Part of the RELIK A-Z Knowledge Card system, each card carries point values, rarity levels, and category tags connecting to the larger RELIK Human universe.
